About Your Instructor

Welcome to Social Studies Review in the Life Skills Department at Gaston College. You are officially on your way to completing the social studies portion of your GED or preparing for a curriculum English, history, or geography class if you have already finished your high school education!

My name is Lindy Wilson. I have been teaching for Gaston College since 2010. I have taught New Student Orientation, Reading Review, STAR Reading, Social Studies, and Algebra/Geometry/Statistics Review. I earned a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a M.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

I have previously worked for Caromont Health and the Gaston County Department of Social Services.

I currently volunteer for the Abuse Prevention Council, Inc. of Cleveland County where I meet victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and rape at Cleveland Regional Medical Center and Kings Mountain Hospital and provide emergency support to the victim and the victim's family.

I have been married since 2004 and I am the proud mother of a beautiful little girl and a handsome little boy!

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of my students. We are going to have a wonderful semester!

Our users

This website is designed for students preparing for the social studies portion of the GED test or for students that have finished their high school education, but need more reading, history, government/economics, or geography review before beginning a curriculum class. In order to be successful students need to attend class regularly and engage in self-study outside of class.
